Beautiful Holiday Season Dresses from Dear-Lover

This post is a collaboration with the brand Dear-Lover. They have very kindly sent me the dresses I model in this post. However, I do not make any money from writing this post.

Earlier this year, I was contacted by the lovely brand Dear-Lover, and they asked if I could do a blog post for them. Since I had worked with them before (watch my YouTube try-on haul from last year here), I was excited to try their dresses again. I chose two dresses to try - both of them are maxi-length evening gowns, as I had previously been impressed especially by the quality of their evening wear. Both are also red, because it's one of my favorite colors to wear, and perfect for Christmas and the holiday season!

The first dress I picked out is the Red My Everything Plus Size Mermaid Dress. With a price of only $ 9.90, it is an extremely affordable option for an evening dress. I was honestly so impressed by the quality, especially considering the low price. The dress is heavy in a good way - it feels luxurious and a lot more expensive than it is. However, the material is very curve-hugging, so if you want a smoother silhouette, you may want to wear light shape-wear underneath. I chose the size 3X based on my bust and hip measurements and it fits me wonderfully.

I styled the dress with platform heels (ASOS), a black velvet clutch (Gina Tricot) and a hair accessory (Gina Tricot).

The mermaid cut is very flattering for a curvaceous body. As you can see, it really makes the booty pop! This dress is also available in black and white on the Dear-Lover website.

The second dress I chose is called the Red Slit Diva Plus Size Maxi Dress. This is another show-stopping number; I really love the structured neckline and the sexy but elegant slit. However, I advice sizing down in this dress. I went for the size 4X (I think 3X was out of stock) and it is a bit loose on me, as well as a bit too long. Since the material is stretchy, I think I could have even gone for a 2X, but that depends on your personal taste - whether you want a really curve-hugging dress or prefer more room. One thing I need to mention is that this dress truly is a maxi dress. I'm 179 cm tall and I'm wearing my highest heels with the dress, but it's still floor-length! Great for tall girls, but if you are shorter I would size down. Of course, you can easily get it tailored if it is too long on you, especially since the dress itself is so affordable at only $ 9.60.

Since the dress is a bit too large on me, I styled it with a belt (ASOS) as well as a gold and black clutch I got as a birthday present a couple of years ago. The belt cinches in the waist a bit and makes it more flattering (in my opinion). I also rolled up the sleeves a bit since they were a little loose on me.

The material of the dress is thicker than the first dress, so you don't necessarily need shape-wear. Of course, whether or not you choose to wear shape-wear is always a personal choice and a preference.

Confidence is the key - if you feel good in a dress, you will also look great!

Which of these dresses is your favorite?
